INCLUSION SWOP 2001
On Wednesday 28th November at the NEC there is a major
celebration of the work of Birmingham Schools.
During this academic year
'The Standards for Educational Inclusive Practice'
will be re launched. In the morning session of SWOP there will
be a workshop on these standards aimed at Learning Mentors.
There will also be the opportunity for 'break out' sessions
where mentors can collaborate with colleagues from other schools and colleges.
The Women in Theatre group will be presenting their play
'All of Us' which has been specially commissioned by the
Inclusion Consultancy Service. It has already received excellent reviews from the schools where it has been shown. Many teachers and learning mentors are already negotiating for this play to go into their school.
Have you ever thought that across the city many schools,
learning mentors and teachers are all working to tackle the same problems and issues? And they are all coming up with their own solutions and their own resources. Wouldn't it be great to be able to share our approaches and materials and celebrate our successes?
Come to SWOP 2001 and collect resources, worksheets, ideas
and information.
Could you display some of your materials or examples of
pupil's work?
Do you have a special initiative this term that you could share?
Staff who have a display stand will have the first hour of Swop
to exchange materials before the general public are allowed in.
Ring 0121 303 2619 to reserve a table or to request more
information.
Remember the more people who bring their
resources the more we will have to Swop |
